Olds College is investigating after one of the students in its arborist program was injured after falling out of a tree.

Student apparently fell roughly 9 metres from tree on central Alberta campus

Olds College is investigating after one of the students in its arborist program was injured after falling out of a tree.

The accident happened Thursday afternoon at the central Alberta campus.

The student, from Manitoba, had been climbing a tree when he fell about nine metres.

He was later airlifted to Calgary for treatment.

The school says this is the first accident ever in the two-year program.

It's now reviewing all safety standards.
