Man arrested after stolen truck crash leads to foot chase in Red Deer

Red Deer RCMP arrested a man early Friday morning after the stolen truck he was driving crashed into a parked truck and got stuck in a fence, damaging an electrical pole.

A man was arrested early Friday morning in Red Deer after astolen truckcrashed into a parked vehicleand got stuck in a fence, damaging an electrical pole.

The suspectwas found in a backyard by a police dog after trying to get away on foot.

Police were called about reports of a truck stolen in Red Deer driving erraticallyin an alley behind Ireland Crescent in Inglewood around 4:15 a.m. Friday.

RCMP contained the area between 40th Avenue, Ingersoll Street and Ironside Street while they searched for the driver.

A 25-year-old Red Deer man will face charges for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, obstruction of a peace officer, mischief, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order.
