Ric McIver, interim leader of the Alberta Progressive Conservatives, was quickly criticized by current and formercolleagues after he sent an "urgent" letter to the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta (PCAA) asking them to "get out and support the Conservative Party on Monday."

Some were angered by the blanket endorsement" andjumped on social media to give McIver pushback on the correspondence.

Calgary-Northwest MLASandra Jansentweeted that caucus did not consent to McIver's letter, and party members didn't agree to it either.

FormerMLA Thomas Lukaszuk'stweet called McIver's endorsement as"inappropriate" as Premier Rachel Notley throwing her support behind Thomas Mulcair, theleaderof the federal NDP.

In a letter on his Facebook page today, Lukaszukwrote that because he had criticized Notley for endorsing the federal NDP, he wouldtreat the issue equally within the PC party.
