Police investigate shooting outside northeast Calgary convenience store

Police responded to a shooting outside a northeast convenience store late Wednesday evening.

The call came in around 9:30 p.m. of a shooting outside the 7-Elevenat 3304 64th Street N.E.

Police confirmed shell casings were found outside the store, and tracked two vehicles that had left the scene.

They said they found what was believed to be one of the shooter's vehicles, which was abandoned, and believed they hadtracked the suspectsto a nearby home, which officers surrounded at 10:30 p.m.

Police later said the suspects were not in that house and that officers were continuing to search for the suspects.

EMS confirmed they responded to a "weapons event" but were unable to immediately provide further details.
