Highway 1 crash near Cochrane likely alcohol-related, police say

Alcohol was likely a factor in a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 1 near Cochrane on Sunday that sent two men to hospital with serious injuries, RCMP say.

Alcohol was likely a factor in a single-vehicle rollovernear Cochranethat sent two men to hospital with serious injurieson Sunday, RCMP say.

The vehicle was heading east on Highway 1just before 7 p.m. MT when it rolled as the driver took the off ramp to Morley Road.

Police say the passenger was thrown from the SUV, suffering critical life-threatening injuries. He was flown to hospital by air ambulance.

The driver, who had to be extracted from the crashed vehicle, was taken to hospital by ground ambulance.
