Snowfall warning in effect for southern Alberta

Southern Alberta drivers, beware: snowfall warnings arenow in effect.

Heavy snow is forecastedtobegin falling on Friday night, and is expected to continue throughout the day on Saturday, Environment Canada says.

It is projecting that25 to 35 cm of snow could blanket theCrowsnest Pass which faces a winter storm warning and its surrounding areas, whileBrooks, Cardston, Drumheller, Hanna, Kananaskis andOkotokscould see10 to 20 cm.

Driving conditions for all areas are expected to deteriorate, and visibility is expected to be low.

Drivers are urged to keep headlights on, maintain a safe driving distance, and be prepared to stop on roads and highways.
