Rain, hail, lightning pound southern Alberta

Some extreme weather hit southern Alberta Saturday afternoon including pounding rain, hail and lightning strikes.

Some extreme weather hit southern Alberta Saturday afternoon including pounding rain, hail and lightning strikes.

"Meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing toonie size hail and rainfall in excess of 50millimetres," Environment Canada said.

"Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads."
