Storm warnings end for southern Alberta

All storm warnings and watches for southern Alberta have ended.

Several watches and warnings had been issued by Environment Canada as a storm system moved through southern Alberta Friday. It brought heavy rain and hail to many communities across the region, including Calgary.

There wereseveral reports of flash flooding in Calgary towards the end of the storm.

Kincora Heights was one area to see localized flooding on the roads, while other areas reported manhole covers being blown because of the deluge.

One of the reports to CBC News comes from the community of Sandstone, while the other report is from the area of 17th Avenue and 37th Street S.W.

Strong rain and nickel-sized hail hit parts of the city around 4 p.m. MT Friday and several other areas across southern Alberta.
