CBE puts off decision on fate of tweeting trustee

The Calgary Board of Education has put off a decision about disciplining one of its trustees for tweeting a newspaper article.

The Calgary Board of Education has put off a decision about disciplining one of its trustees for tweeting a newspaper article.

The board spent more than three hours Tuesday night in private talks about Sheila Taylor.

Taylor, the head of the boards audit committee, is in trouble for tweeting about an erroneousCalgary Herald article in December. The article contained two mistakes about the board's financial decisions.

She deleted the tweet the following day.

Board chairwoman Pat Cochrane says the internal discussion about Taylors actions remains private.

"I can't talk about the content of private agenda items until a decision has been made," Cochrane said.

There will be another private board meeting next week to discuss the situation with Taylor.

Board officials said its possible she could be removed from her position on the audit committee.
