Two shots were fired during an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Strathmore early Saturday, police say.

Police say two men went into the store about 2:10 a.m., one of them being armed with a long-barreled rifle, which was pointed at customers and a staff member while the robbers demanded cigarettes and cash.

Once the staff member handed over the money and cigarettes, the armed robber fired twice while still inside the store aiming in the general direction of the staff member, who wasn't injured.

The two men then fled in a waiting vehicle.
