Calgary police confirmed investigatorshave seized what appears to be an arrow from outside the home where a man was killed Thursday morning as they work to determine motive and identify suspects.

"There's evidence being collected there, what was actually used in that incident and what other items were located in and around the scene, that's still being determined," said Staff Sgt. Sean Gregson in a press conference Thursday afternoon.

"Autopsy results will obviously give us a lot of information tomorrow."

One man was killed and two others injured Thursday morning in what police say was likely a targeted attack inside thehome inthe northwest community of Brentwood.

"It has all the hallmarks of beingtargeted right now, andwhat we're trying to determine is who was thetarget," said Gregson.

House known to police

Police say they were called to the houseon Braden Crescent N.W. around 9:15 a.m.for reports of a home invasion.

Officers found theman dead inside the home, along with two others who had been injured. The victim's identity won't be released until an autopsy takes place Friday morning.

Although he wouldn't speak to the nature of the calls, Gregson said police had two previous interactions with residents of the home, including oncein the past year.

The homicide unit is investigating and witnesses are being interviewed, police said.

Second home invasion

Police won't say how many suspects they're looking for butGregson said that once investigators have compiled more information, CPS will release further details.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police or contact Crime Stoppers.

Just 12 hours earlier, and less than two kilometres away, three people were injured in another home invasion.

Police say the victims were stabbed at a home in the 2800 block of Capitol Hill Crescent N.W.after intruders broke in Wednesday night.

While Gregson said police "don't see any immediate connection" between the two home invasions, they're "not ruling it out."
