Police seek driver who struck teen cyclist, took him to hospital, handed him $100 then left

Calgary police are searching for a driver who rear-ended a teenager ona bicycle, then dropped himoff at a hospital but left without leaving her name or tellingpolice.

The collision happened on May 31 at about 9 p.m. at Fonda Way S.E. and Radcliffe Drive S.E. in the Forest Heights neighbourhood, the Calgary Police Service said in a release on Friday.

After hitting the cyclist, the woman drove the teen to the Peter Lougheed Centre, gave him $100and left him at the front entrance.

The teensuffered a fractured nose and "significant scrapes to his face and limbs," police said.

The woman didn't provide any personal information and failed to report the incident to police.

Police described the suspect as a woman with black hair who was driving a white Audi Q5 SUV.At the time of the collision, she was wearing a black, long-sleeved top over a white shirt, blue jeans, and knee-high black boots.

The victim is Black and 16 years old, police said.

The woman's vehicle sustained front-end damage in the collision.
