Tuscany C-Train station set to open on Aug. 25

The Tuscany C-Train station will be open for service on Aug. 25. It is estimated 40,000 residents live in the nearby communities of Rocky Ridge, Royal Oak and Tuscany.

Calgary's newest C-Train station will open onAug.25 and will be the last point onthe northwest LRTline.

The Tuscany Station willbecomethe ninth station on the red line.

Construction began in July2012. The estimated cost for the extension is $123 million.

City transit will change a number of bus routes to transport riders to and from the station, effective the Monday it opens.

  • Route 157has been extended to increase service coverage to the Royal Vista area of 100 Avenue N.W.
  • Route 58 has been change toRoute 169.
  • Routes 74,158,169and174have been revised to service Tuscany Station and will no longer be going to Crowfoot Station.

There will also be two park-and-ride lots adjacent to the station with room for 550 vehicles.

An opening celebration for the station will be held on Aug. 23 and will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. MT. People will be allowed to test out the new train station with rides to and from the Crowfoot station from noon to 5 p.m.

It is estimated 40,000 residents livein the nearby communities of Rocky Ridge, Royal Oak and Tuscany.
