Man shot, woman run over during altercation on rural property east of Calgary

One man was shot and suffered life-threatening injuries while a woman was seriously injured when she was run over by a vehicle at their rural property in Wheatland County, east of Calgary.

Update Aug. 4, 2020: Police say Jesse Lane Roberts, 24, of Wheatland County has been charged with attempted murder with a firearm, attempted murder with a vehicle, pointing a firearm and assault with a weapon in connection to this shooting.

He's scheduled to appear in court onAug. 21.

One man was shot and suffered life-threatening injurieswhile a woman was seriously injured when she wasrun over by a vehicle at their rural property in Wheatland County, east of Calgary.

RCMP say it's believed the two were injured "during an altercation with two other adults known to the victims."

Both victims were taken to hospital.

A 24-year-old man from Wheatland County was taken into custody, according to Strathmore RCMP, and charges are pending.

The investigation is ongoing.
