Woman dies after bus hit by tanker truck east of Calgary

A 50-year-old female passenger on a small, private bus has died of injuries she sustained in a collision with a tanker truck east of Calgary.

The driver of the bus, which was carrying about 12 passengers, was also taken to hospital with serious injuries but has since been upgraded to stable condition.

StrathmoreRCMPsay the collision happened at 5:15 p.m. on June 20at the intersection of Glenmore Trail and Highway 791.

The force of the crash forcedboth vehiclesoff the roadway, RCMP said.

Mounties say the preliminary investigation suggests the bus, travelling north on Highway 791,did not stop at a stop sign and was struck by the westbound truck.
