The teen charged in the viciousmurder oftwo people near Ardrossan four years agoshowed no emotion theday he wasarrested,a police officer testified Wednesday.

"He wasn't crying. He wasn't angry. Not demanding, cooperative. Flat would be a good description," said Sgt. Randall Chaulk.

The boy, who had just barely turned 14,was accused with another 14-year-old of committing two grisly murders just hours earlier.

Trudel, 50, and Boenke, 68, were found bludgeoned and shot to death in June 2009, in what police described at the time as "random" murders, on an acreage near Ardrossan, east of Edmonton.

Theboys were wards of the province and had gone missing hours before from the nearby Bosco Homes facility for troubled teens.

They were caught hours after the killings while driving Boenke'spick-up.

The friendwas crying, strugglingto hold back tears, Chaulk said. Eventually murder charges against the boy were dropped.

The officersaid he'd been told the crime scene was quote "a blood-letting," andhe wasseizing clothing from the boys to test forDNA evidence and gunshot residue.

The court hasalready heard thatall those tests came back negative.
