ATM robberies in south Edmonton linked, police believe

Two armed ATM robberies in south Edmonton Tuesday are likely the work of one suspect, police believe.

Edmonton police are investigating after people were robbed at two ATMs in south Edmonton on Wednesday night. The two incidents are believed to be linked. (CBC)

Two armedATM robberies in south Edmonton Tuesday arelikelythe work of one suspect, police believe.

The first thefthappenedat anATM near 91st Street and 51st Avenue just before 7 p.m., when thesuspectdemanded thevictim's walletthen stoletheir minivan, police said.

The minivanis a grey1996 Plymouth Voyager with Alberta licence plate FAS362.

About 40 minutes later,police were called again after a second robberyat anATM near53rdAvenue and 75th Street.

Police say thesuspect followed the victimto the ATM before demandingcash be withdrawn. The suspect then fled.

Both times the suspect used a weapon, though police are not saying what the weapon was.
