Edmonton Muslims celebrate the end of Ramadan with prayer

Thousands of Muslims in Edmonton marked the end of the end of Ramadan with prayer and services at the Northlands Expo Centre Wednesday morning.

Thousands of Muslims in Edmonton marked the endofRamadanwith prayer and servicesat the Northlands ExpoCentre Wednesday morning.

Similarprayer ceremonies were held at10 other centres in the city.

Eidal-Fitris a holiday marking the end of the Muslim fasting month ofRamadan.

Eid is one of the two most important holidays in the Muslim calendar, said Masood Peracha, chair of the Edmonton Council of Muslim Communities.

The sermon at the Expo Centresentamessageof brotherhood, charity, forgiveness andpeace,Perachasaid.

"We all know there are a number of different conflict zones throughout the world that sometime spills over into our part of the world unfortunately," he said.
