It's time to stock up on bus tickets.

Starting Feb. 1, the cost of a transitticket will go up by seven cents, whilecash fares will go up by five cents.

That puts the cash fare up to$3.25, which the city says won't increase again overthe next two years. Ticket prices will go up23 cents by 2018.

The good news istickets purchased before February that have not expired will still be honoured.

Price changes will also affect other ETS fares, including monthly passes, with an average increase of about three per cent.

The ETS 747 route to the airport and the Assured Income for Severely Handicapped (AISH) monthly passes will not be affected.

The last time the city raised transitfares was 2013. ETS anticipates nearly 90 million trips on transit services in 2016.
