Severe thunderstorm warning ended for Yellowhead County near Edson

A severe thunderstorm warning has ended for Yellowhead County west of Edmonton near Edson.

Conditions are perfect for a big, rattling rainstorm

A severe thunderstorm warning has ended forYellowhead County west of Edmonton nearEdson.

Environment Canada wastracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel-sized hail and heavy rain.

Earlier in the evening, Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Parkland Countybefore ending itjust before 7 p.m.

Thunderstorms were also brewing in eastern Alberta from Vermilion to LloydminsterThursday afternoon.

A severe thunderstorm watch was issued for dozens of communitiesincluding Vermilion, Lloydminster, Wainwright, Hanna and Coronation. The watch ended at around 6:15 p.m.

The storm wasexpected to form over northeastern Albertanthis afternoonand move east toward the Saskatchewan border by nightfall.
