Josh Bowmar, hunter who speared bear, won't face charges

Alberta Fish and Wildlife has confirmed the hunter who was captured on video killing a bear with a spear wont face charges.

Alberta Fish and Wildlife hasconfirmedthe huntercaptured on video killing a bear with a spear won't face charges.

A video posted in June on YouTube shows American hunter Josh Bowmar hitting the bear with a spear. He later told CBC News that the bear died immediately.

In response, the Alberta government announcedplans to outlaw spear hunting this fall. Butan investigation showedBowmar didn't break any existing laws.
