Sylvan Lake RCMP searching for man charged with attempted murder

Sylvan Lake RCMP are searching for a man in connection withan alleged attempted murder northwest of Eckville, Alta.

Responding to a 911 call on Monday,RCMP found a severely injured man with multiple stab woundson a roadside in a rural area.

The victim, whose condition is serious but not life-threatening, was transported by a STARS air ambulance to hospital in Edmonton, police say. The victim's name has not been released.

Edward Dwayne Heywood, 45, has been charged with attempted murder.

Heywood is described as a Caucasian with brown hair and brown eyes. He weighs 220 pounds,stands six-foot-twoand has tattoos on this arms.

Heywood was spotteddriving a black 2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck bearing the licence plate BPB 0593.

Police say Heywood is considered to be armed and dangerous. If he is seen police warn not to approach him but call 911. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Sylvan Lake RCMP detachment at 403-858-7200.
