Police want to speak to the man as part of their investigation. Investigators say hewas last seen Dec. 2 just before Al-Hasnawi was shot around Main Street East and Sanford Avenue.

The man, who police describe as "older," was being verbally accosted by two perpetrators, police say.

Al-Hasnawi, 19, came out of the Al Mostafa Islamic Centre with his little brother around 9 p.m., saw the incident and intervened. The two men turned their attention to Al-Hasnawi, who was eventually shot.

The case has drawn widespread attention, in part because of the criticism of local paramedics.

It took paramedics 38 minutes to transport Al-Hasnawi to hospital, police say. Witnesses say paramedics told Al-Hasnawi he was acting, and that he was shot with a pellet gun. The province and the paramedic service are investigating.

Dale Burningsky King, 19, of Hamilton is charged with second degree murder, whilea second man faces charges of being an accessory after the fact.

Anyone with information on the older man should contact Det. Doug Jonovich at 905-546-4863, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
