Another Tim Hortons in Hamilton is in the middle of an outbreak

The city of Hamilton added another Tim Hortons location on its list of ongoing outbreaks as 101 new cases of the virus were reported on Monday.

Another Tim Hortons location is in the middle ofan outbreak as Hamilton reported 101 new cases of the virus on Monday.

There are 44 ongoing outbreaks in the city, with the Tim Hortons at 200 Barton St. E. being among the new ones. According to the city of Hamilton database, two staff tested positive for COVID-19.

It's the second Tim Hortonson the outbreak list. An outbreak was declared at the Tim Hortonslocated at 2804 King St. E on May 6, which has three staff with the virus.

There are no COVID-19 variants associated with either instance.The other new outbreak is Green Collar Landscaping, which has four cases.

Other outbreaks in Hamilton

An outbreak at Hamilton-Wentworth Detention Centre, declared as of May 8, was also added to the city's database on Monday. The city says one inmate has COVID-19.

The outbreak at 235 Rebecca St. Towers has risen to 103 cases total cases since March. One hundred of those people are residents.

The outbreak at Evergreen Manor grew by one case to a total of 24 people infected.The outbreak at Stack Pole International also increased to six cases and Noah's Ark Children's Centre increased to eight.

The outbreakat YWCA Downtown Hamilton Childcare Centre has been declaredover. Six people had COVID-19.

Average daily cases sitting at 139

There are 1,124 active COVID-19 cases in the city. Hamilton has seen 18,613 cases throughout the pandemic, and just over 90 per cent of them are resolved.

There have been 369 people in Hamilton who have died.

The average number of new cases per day is 139.

As of Monday, 217,677 doses of the vaccine have been administered. The vaccine clinic prioritizing Black and other racialized populations at 54 Vine Street will continue to run until May 23, according to Ward 3 Councillor Nrinder Nann.

The city website has yet to be updated.

The clinic is by appointment only, and people can call the COVID-19 Vaccine Hotline at 905-974-9848, option 7.

There are 41 patients with COVID-19 at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton and 103 at Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS.) Thirty-nine COVID-19 patients are being cared for in the HHS ICU.

Brant

Brant reported three new cases, bringing its total seen during the pandemic to anoverall 2,909 casesof COVID-19. There are 139 active cases and 2,750 areconsidered resolved.

Twenty people have died, and five people with the virus are in hospital.

There have been 60,184 doses of the vaccine administered.

Haldimand-Norfolk

There are 222 active cases of COVID-19 in the counties of Haldimand and Norfolk, according todata online. There have been 2,187 people who have recovered.

Forty-one deaths are considered COVID-related.

There have been 44,107doses of the vaccine administered.

Niagara

Niagara reported 75 new cases of the viruson Monday. The region has seen14,788COVID-19 cases during thepandemic, of which 12,653 are resolved and 1,739 are active.

There have been 396people who have died.

There have been 202,294 doses of thevaccine administered to Niagara residents in the region.

Halton

Vaccine booking slots in Halton opened on Monday for those aged 16 and up who cannot work from home, as well as anyone aged 50 and over.

Haltonreported 98 new COVID-19 cases fora total of 16,272casesreported during the pandemic.

One more person has died in Halton, bringing the region's deaths to 218 people. There have been15,276 people who have recovered and 778 people who have the virus right now.

Eighteen of the new cases were in Burlington. The city has 230 active cases and has seen 53deaths.
