Driver, passenger and a small dog killed in crash in Burlington, police say

After a car crash early Thursday morning in Burlington, police say two people and a small dog have died.

After a car crash early Thursday morning in Burlington, police say two people and a small dog have died.

Halton police say that just before 1 a.m. officers responded to a collision at the intersection of Guelph Line and Lowville Park Road in the Burlington.

They say a silver Mitsubishi sedan driven by a 47-year-old man from Hamilton was heading northon Guelph Line, past Britannia Road when the car"failed to negotiate the left turn" and slidoff the roadbefore hittinga retaining wall.The driver was taken to hospital "with serious injuries and pronounced deceased."

Police also said that a passenger, a 41-year-old womanalso from Hamiltonand a small dog, "were both pronounced deceased on scene."

Police say the Halton Regional Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit isinvestigating.
