The City of Hamilton is pausing registration for spring recreation programs until further notice due to an ongoing cyberattack.

Registration was supposed to begin the week of March 4.

In a news release, the city also shared that all standing committee meetings will be cancelled this and next week. City council will hold a confidential meeting on Monday regarding its response to the incident.

On Wednesday, council deferred most items on its agenda to a later date.

The attack on Feb. 25has disrupted numerous public services. It hasalso delayed administrative work such as the suspension of high schoolstudents who don't have vaccine records or valid exemptions on file.

City staff have not publicly commented on the cause of the breach, the nature of the incident or whether personal information was accessed.

Residents have told CBC Hamilton they're concerned about not being able to access necessary services. The city is posting updates about what is affected on its website.
