The account has been set up by the family.

The City of Hamilton has also arranged for a book of condolences to be open for the public to sign and share their sympathy with the family. It will be available for signing on Friday, May 17 from 2 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Ancaster Old Town Hall.

"The community's in shock over this and they want to do something. They want to express their condolences to the family but they also want to respect their need for privacy," said Ancaster councillor Lloyd Ferguson, who arranged for the book.

"It's an opportunity for them to express their feelings. It's a terrible thing for the family, but the community is also in mourning. We've had three of these in the last decade. It's getting tougher to absorb, especially a young man like this in the prime of his life with a young girl, a baby girl.

Hamilton Mayor Bob Bratina issued a statement offering histhoughts for the family. He wrote in an email"The entire community has been devastated by the senseless loss of the life of Tim Bosma. Our grief as relatives, friends, neighbours and caring residents can hardly approach that of Mr. Bosma's closest loved ones but it is profound and deeply heartfelt."

Meanwhile, a candlelight prayer vigil will be held tonight at the 24/7 Church in Burlington, Ont., at 1400 Plains Rd. E., from 8 p.m. to9 p.m. It will be held outside if the weather allows, or inside the church if not.

Those attending are asked to bringa bible, a candle, and an acoustic guitar for those who play.

A candle lighting ceremony in honour of Bosma is also scheduled to take place in Brantford on Friday, May 17 at 7 p.m. in Harmony Square. A pastor and choir will be in attendance to speak and sing in memory of Bosma.
