Police seize $30K in fentanyl patches and 'popcorn' heroin-fentanyl mix, arrest 2

Hamilton police arrested two men and seized more than $30,000 worth of fentanyl patches and a heroin-fentanyl mix known as "popcorn" on Thursday.

Hamilton police arrested two men on Thursday and seized more than $30,000 worth of fentanyl patches and a heroin-fentanyl mix known as "popcorn."

Investigators on the police's gangs and weapons unit were working on a tip that a man,police said,had "moved back into the city" and was selling the "popcorn" mix.

They arrested two men around 4 p.m. Thursday near Queenston and Nash roads in the east end.

They allege a 42-year-old Hamilton manhad about seven grams of "popcorn" and a large amount of cash, less than $5,000. The other man, a 49-year-old B.C. manhad 116 fentanyl patches, police said.
