Kitchener man was stunt driving while under the influence of cannabis, police say

A Kitchener man is charged with stunt driving after Hamilton police say he was clocked driving 144 km/h in an 80 km/h zone with cannabis products scattered around his seat.

A Kitchener man is charged with stunt driving after police say he was clocked driving 144 km/h in an 80 km/h zone with cannabis products scattered around his seat.

The man was stopped aftera Hamilton officer in a fully-marked cruiser driving north on Highway 6 around 6:30 a.m. Thursday was passed by a vehicle travelling faster than the posted speed limit and crossing over the centre line, according to police.

The officer pulled the 42-year-old over a short time later when he was stuck in traffic and determined he was driving while under the influence, states a media release from the service.

After the man was arrested investigatorsfound cannabis rolled cigarettes and liquid cannabis products"in the immediate area of the driver's seat," say police.

The man is charged with speeding, stunt driving, unlawful purchase of cannabis and operating a vehicle with cannabis readily available.
