3 people in hospital after car crash on Hamilton Mountain, police say

Hamilton police are asking the public for help as it investigates a crash on Sunday that left one womanin critical condition and injured two others.

Police are looking for witnesses and any footage from Sunday just before 1 p.m.

Hamilton police are asking the public for help as it investigates a crash on Sunday that left one womanin critical condition and injured two others.

In a media release, the police servicesays officers responded to a two-vehicle collision onUpper James Street between Dickenson Road East and English Church Road East shortly before 1 p.m.

Police say a 24-year-old man was driving a2016 Honda Civic and rear-endeda 2010 Hyundai Elantrawith an 86-year-old woman and her 59-year-old daughter.

The 86-year-old from Hamiltonwas taken to hospital withlife-threatening injuries and her daughter was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The 24-year-old, from Hagersville, was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police want to speak with any witnesses or anyone in the area who may have footage between12:40 p.m. and 12:55 p.m.

CBC Hamilton contacted the police service for more details, such aswhether charges have been laid, the cause of the crash and any updates on the people involved. The service didn't answer those specific questions, saying "there are no further updates at this time."
