Hamilton police say they're looking for two people dressed like construction workers after reports of a shooting on the Stoney Creek Mountain Monday morning.

Investigators say a "noise resembling gunshots" rang out sometime around 8 a.m. in the area of 23EchovalleyDrive, near Mud Street West.

Witnesses have reported seeing one man running into one of the townhouse units around that time, while another ran northbound, away from the area, police say.

Police say they weren't called in about the incident until later that night, around 9:30 p.m. They have since been conducting interviews in the area to try to figure out what happened, a news release reads.

Investigators say they are looking for two men dressed in "construction-type clothing" wearing yellow construction hats with white dust masks over their faces.
