Six Nations of the Grand River launches COVID-19 small business relief fund

Six Nations of the Grand Riveris taking action to ensure that member business owners have access to relief fund support to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, Chief Mark Hill said Thursday.

Six Nations launched a small business relief fund this week. Eligible small business owners can apply for up to $5,000.

"Our small business owners have been leaders and role models in Six Nation's fight against the COVID-19 virus, ceasing their operations and putting their livelihoods on hold without question," Hill said in a news release.

"This is one of the ways we will be honouring those sacrifices."

Hill said the small business relief fund forms part of the community's ongoing efforts to minimize the impacts of the virus.
Eligible businesses must have been operating full-time prior to March 1, 2020, and priority will be given to small businesses that have been unable to access other emergency support programs funded by the federal government.
