Police say 1 person did daylight triple shooting in St. Catharines

Niagara police say a recent daylight triple shooting in St. Catharines was the act of a single shooter.

Niagara police say a recent daylight triple shooting in St. Catharines was the act of a single shooter.

Police are now looking for only one attackerin the Sept. 6 incident in a busy neighbourhood.While initial reports said there were two gunmen,police now say there was a single shooter.

Two people were in critical condition after the shooting but are now listed as stable, say police. A third victim has non-life threatening injuries.

The shots were fired inside a home around Church and Niagara streets at 3:34 p.m. One of the victims made it outside before collapsing. Police said it wasn't a random attack.

Three people were injured in a daylight shooting near downtown St. Catharines Thursday.

"One person is responsible for the shooting that left three people injured," Niagara Regional Police Service said in a media release Tuesday.

Police interviewed witnesses in the area, and were also looking for security footage from homes and businesses.

Police describe the suspect as a black male in his late teens to early 20s, 5'9", with short hair, clean shaven, earrings and a very slim build.

He wore a black and white hoodie with small white writing in the left chest area and white writing down the middle of the back with white and grey on the arms of the sweatshirt. He also wore black pants with white writing on the lower right leg, and black and white running shoes. He was carrying a bag on his shoulder.
