Protesters outside of Merritt said they were prepared to be arrested yesterday, as a truck from a company called BioCentral tried to cross their barricade.

The demonstrators are trying to stop biosolids from treated sewage from being trucked into their community.

But the truck yesterday was only carrying equipment to the composting facility on Sunshine Valley Road.

So it was allowed to go through.

In the meantime, a meeting has been arranged between BioCentral and local First Nation chiefs.

Cory Herman is a division manager for the company.
