Scientist finds unacceptable chemical levels in Merritt biosolids

Since residents in the Nicola Valley discovered the composting and spreading of Biosolids, the question has been: is it safe?

Now, a scientist with the Suzuki Foundation believes he has the answer.

John Werring is a senior science advisor with the foundation.

He was asked by local First Nations and the Friends of the Nicola Valley to come and test the materials being spread.

And the results, are in.

Werring took a sample in July 2015.

He says there are at least 10 chemicals found to be above provincial standards.
