Another ATM stolen, this time from Waterloo, say police

Waterloo Regional police are investigating another ATM theft, this time from a location right next to a FreshCo grocery store in Waterloo early Friday morning.

Waterloo Regional police are investigating yet another ATM theft, this time from a FreshCo grocery store in Waterloo early Friday morning.

"At approximately 4:11 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to 425 University Ave. (East)in Waterloo, in response to a break and enter," Staff Sgt. Deborah McBride told CBC News. "Unknown suspects removed an ATM from a 24-hour ATM location."

McBride says it's not clear if the ATM was in the Freshco itself, or in a space attached to the grocery store.

"The investigation is continuing and police are requesting any information people have, to call in and let us know," McBride said.

The Waterloo theft marks the fourth ATM theft in the area in the last month.

Thieves have stolen ATMs from Guelphstrip club The Manor,two ATMS in an early-morning bust-in atthe Aud and on Thursday morningfrom the Stampede Corral bar in Kitchener.

McBride says it's not clear yet if a truck was used in the ATM theft or if there is any security footage of the incident, as police are still investigating.
