ATM stolen from Kitchener's Stampede Corral

An ATM has been stolen from the Stampede Corral bar in Kitchener the latest in rash of bank machine heists in the area.

Officers were called to the country music bar on Stirling Avenue South at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday after unknown suspects broke in and removed an ATM.

Police said a white truck that was believed to have been used in the heist was located.

Police released few details about the theft. Officers continue to investigate.

Other ATM heists

Earlier this month, a pick-up truck was used to drive through the doors at the Kitchener Auditorium and two bank machines were stolen.

Officers called to The Aud around 4 a.m. on Feb. 3found extensive damage to the doors at entrance seven, near the stairs where the ATMs were located, tire marks on the floor and damage to a stone wall.

A stolen truck believed to have been used in that theft was found about 5 km away that same morning.

A truck was also used to drag a bank machine out of the Guelph strip club The Manor on Jan. 27. Police responded to a call just before 7 a.m. that people had used a truck to break through the doors of The Manor. The would-be thieves were seen dragging the ATM by a chain behind the truck by officers, but the machine came loose on Wellington Street West on the Hanlon Parkway overpass and the truck drove away.
