Kitchener-Conestoga riding: Conservative Harold Albrecht re-elected

Conservative Harold Albrecht has been re-elected in the riding of Kitchener-Conestoga with 43.7 per cent of the popular vote.

Conservative Harold Albrecht has been re-elected in the riding of Kitchener-Conestoga after a tight race with Liberal candidate Tim Louis.

With over 80 per cent of polls reporting,Albrechthas43.7 per cent of the popular vote.Liberal candidate Tim Louis issecond with 42.2 per cent,while NDP candidate James Villeneuvetrailedat 9.8 per cent.

Conservative incumbent Harold Albrechtis locked in a tight race withLiberal Tim Louisin the riding of Kitchener-Conestoga, with Albrechtleading by just 430 votes,with65.1 per cent of polls reporting.NDP candidate JamesVilleneuvetrails with about 10 per cent of the popular vote.

Albrecht has held theridingsince 2006. Hewas re-elected in 2011 with54.10% of the vote. Prior toAlbrecht, the riding was held by Liberal MP LynnMyers.

Kitchener-Conestoga is Waterloo Region's rural riding, encompassing most of the region's townships in the 2015 federal election.Its current boundaries surround Kitchener-Waterlooto the North, East and West, including the smalltowns of Elmira, Wellesley and New Hamburg.
