Cyclist killed in collision north of Guelph

A cyclist is dead after a collision on Wellington Road 7 Tuesday morning. The road, often used by people travelling between Guelph and Elora, was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

An adult man is dead after a collision with a vehicle while cycling north of Guelph Tuesday morning.

OPP said the collision occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Wellington Road 7, between Wellington Road 51 and Eighth Line. The road is used by people travelling between Guelph and Elora.

The male cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

Wellington Road 7 reopened Tuesday afternoon.

Anyone who may have have seen the cyclist Tuesday morning or may have witnessed the collision is asked to call police.
