What's open and what's closed in Waterloo region this August 7 holiday

This long weekend means some facilities in Waterloo region will be closed. Take a look at what's open and what's closed in Waterloo region.

The upcoming long weekend will mean that some facilities will be closed in Waterloo region. Here is a list of what's open and what's closed this Monday holiday.

Kitchener:

Offices atKitchenerCity Hall will be closed on Monday, but the building will open at 9 a.m.

Outdoor pools will be open on Monday:

  • Wilson Pool: 2 to 4:30 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Harry Class Pool: family swims and lane swims will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Public swims will be from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Idlewood Pool: family swims and lane swims will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and public swim will be from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

However, all indoor pools, including the Breithaupt Centre, will be closed.

The market will be closed as usual on Sunday and Monday. The International Food Court re-opens on Tuesday.

AllKitchenerPublic Library locations will be closed, as well as all community centres.

The Aud & arenas will be closed Saturday through Monday. However, Sportsworld arena will be open at 5 p.m. for rentals.Budd Park indoor field will be closed.

Waterloo:

Waterloo City Hall and Waterloo Service Centre will be closed Monday.

Albert McCormick Community Centre will be closed.

Outdoor fields at Bechtel Park and Manulife Financial Soccer and Sports Centre will be open. The facility will also be open at 4:30 p.m for regular programs.

The facility for Moses Springer Community Centre will be closed but the outdoor pool will be open from 10:45 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Rec centres:

  • RIM Park, home of the Manulife Financial Sportsplex & Healthy Living Centre will be open at 4 p.m. for regular programs.
  • Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex & Swimplex will be open. Building and swimplex will be open from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • The Adult Recreation Centre will be closed.

RCAFA Rotary Adult Centre will be closed but will be open from 1 p.m to 4:30 p.m. for KW Bridge only.

Cambridge:

Cambridge City Hall, administration offices and Waterloo Region Small Business centre will be closed Monday.

Cambridge Centre for the Arts will be closed on Monday. Hours will be extended Saturday and Sunday for Mill Race Festival.

John Dolson Centre will be open on Monday with extended care hours.

W.G Johnson Centre will be open with holiday in effect.

All Idea Exchange locations will be open Saturday but closed Sunday and Monday.

Pools open on Monday:

  • George Hancock Pool will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Kinsmen Soper Pool will be open from 9 a.m to 7 p.m.
  • Ed Newland Pool will be open from 11:30 a.m to 7 p.m.

Arenas closed on Monday:

  • Hespeler Memorial Arena.
  • Galt Arena Gardens.
  • Duncan McIntosh Arena.
  • Preston Auditorium
  • Karl Homuth Arena
  • Dickson Centre

The David Durward Centre, William E. Pautler Centre and Allan Reuter Centre will be closed Saturday through Monday. However, adult Day programs will continue to run at Allan Reuter Centre.
