Guelph Uber driver charged with sexual assault

A Guelph Uber driver has been charged with sexual assault, police say.

Officers began investigating sexual assault allegations onMarch 7 after the female victim came forward to police.

The alleged assault occurred "on or about" March 7,Const. ChrisProbsttold CBC News in anemail.

"I can't speak specifically to when the assault occurred, but can confirm that it did happen inGuelph," he said.

On Friday, police charged an Uber driver with sexual assault.

The 59-year-old Guelph man will appear in court April 26.
