Bryan May will seek reelection as the Liberal candidate in Cambridge in the next federal election after he was nominated by the local riding on Saturday.

May has served as MP for Cambridge since 2015. During his time in office he has served as chair of the House of Commons Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development, and Status of Persons with Disabilities.

Prior to 2015, he worked in non-profits and educational organizations.

May said he was proud to accept the nomination.

"Good representation is critical for Cambridge, and there's so much our government has accomplished, because we are focused on the issues that matter to Canadians," May said in a release.

The next federal election is scheduled to take place Oct. 21, 2019.
