Motorcyclist dragged under truck in Guelph crash

Guelph Police are investigating after a motorcyclist and a pickup truck made contact on Gordon Street Thursday evening, causing the motorcyclist to lose control. He was then ejected from the bike and dragged under the front wheel of the truck for about 10 metres.

Motorcyclist suffered multiple fractures and cuts

A 47-year-old motorcyclist is in hospital recovering from multiple fractures and cuts after he was dragged under a pickup truck in Guelph's south end Thursday night.

Police said the man was riding a blue 2007 Kawasaki southbound on Gordon Street just after 8 p.m. when he made contact with another southbound vehicle, a 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck, just north of Clair Road.

The contact caused the motorcyclist to lose control and he fell off the motorcycle.

He was then dragged under the front right wheel of the truck for about 10 metres before the pickup truck driver came to a stop.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital. The 23-year-old driver of the truck was not injured.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. They have asked anyone with information or who may have witnessed it, to contact the traffic unit.
