New public health clinic opens Wednesday in Kitchener

Region of Waterloo Public Health says a new community clinic will open Wednesday at 20 Weber Street in Kitchener. The office will initially offer vaccines and sexual health services to the public.

A new public health clinic is set to open Wednesday in Kitchener.

The clinic will be run by Region of Waterloo Public Health and to start, will offer appointmentsfor vaccines and sexual health services to the public. In the future, the clinic is expected to offer dental screening and baby feeding appointments.

The clinic will be located on the second floor of the regionally owned building and will include six clinic rooms.

Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang, the region's medical officer of health, said in a newsrelease thatthe "central location" of the clinic will provide "easy access to important health services."

Regional Chair Karen Redmansaid in the same release that the clinic "is a testament to the work the region does to provide residents access to service in spaces and places that fit their needs."

Public health already operates clinics at 150 Main St. in Cambridge and 99 Regina St. S. in Waterloo.
