Illegal mushroom dispensary in Cambridge shut down by police, Kitchener man arrested

Regional police executed a search warrant at a magic mushroom dispensary in Cambridge on Tuesday. Police arrested a 20-year-old Kitchener man.

Regional police have shut down an illegal magic mushroom dispensary in Cambridge.

Police executed a search warrant at a business on King Street E. on Tuesday/ Officers seizedlarge quantitiesof suspect psilocybin (magic mushrooms) andvarious forms and Canadian currency.

Police arrested aa 20-year-old Kitchener man. He was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Police said in a release that they want to remind the publicthat psilocybinisclassified as a schedule three drug and selling it is classified as a criminal offence under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

Police say businesses selling psilocybinare operating illegally and the substances is not regulated or does not have any quality control.
