3 phase construction

The city said the parkwill be constructed in three phases. Phase one, currently underway, will consist of the construction of the primary park roadway, parking area, site services, several turf fields, stormwater management and relocation of a heritage house.

Construction for phase two will consist of improving walking trails and landscaping, parking lots, service buildings and adding the tennis court, basketball court and the volleyball court.

The city adds that the mid-19th century heritage home will be renovated into a washroom facility near the courts during this phase.

The final phase of construction will add a skate park, a bike track and complete any remaining work.

"The two remaining phases will complete the park, which will also be home to a recreation complex scheduled to be built in 2026," the city stated in a release.

Residents are invited to attend the open house on Thursday between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Dedication Centre in the Williamsburg Cemetery on Fischer-Hallman Rd.
