Waterloo police charge 4 adults for alleged human trafficking of 14-year-old

Four adults have been charged after allegedly forcing a 14-year-old Kitchener girl into the sex trade.

In a release, the Waterloo Regional Police saythe teenager was taken to two Kitchener hotels and took part in human trafficking offences while her sexual services were allegedlyadvertised online.

Police investigated and charged three men and one woman with several offences that include human trafficking, procurement, receiving a material benefit, advertising of sexual services and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.

Authorities say a 26-year-old man from the Toronto area, who is already facing other charges, has been charged, along withthree people from the Waterloo area:a19-year-old man, a 24-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman.

Police say the teenager has been given assistance "to assist her in escaping from this lifestyle."

On July 8, Toronto police revealed two men were facing a number of charges after another 14-year-old Kitchener girl was allegedlyforced to have sex with one of the men at a motel in the Toronto area.The men also allegedly took photographs of the girl "in certain degrees of undress" andmade arrangements for other men to come to the motelto have sex with the girl for money. She was able to reach out to friends on social media for help, police said.
