Hundreds of people in Ayr received art kits to create their own lanterns that are now part of an art installation at the library branch of the southwestern Ontario community.

The Region of Waterloo Library in southwestern Ontariohas partnered with local artist Christie Shen for the Lanterns of Lights Community Art Project.

Hundreds ofcommunity members received art kits to create their own lanterns, which are now part of an art installation at the Ayr library branch.

The library described the project in an online post as a"symbol of hope for brighter days to come."
