Waterloo long-term care home's COVID-19 outbreak declared over

A COVID-19 outbreak at Columbia Forest long-term care home in Waterloo has been declared over.

That means there's just one active outbreak at a long-term care home in the region, which is a person living at A.R.Goudie in Kitchener.

Public health also reported on Friday an increase of four cases from Thursday to a total of 1,398.

There are also 21 active cases in the region with one person being listed as in hospital, while 90 per cent of all cases since March have been marked as resolved. The number of people who have died in the region remains at 119.

Testing centres in the region have completed just under 56,000 tests since the pandemic began.
