Taxi driver turned busker plays downtown London

Bruce Patterson knows he's not a musical virtuoso.

But the 68year old regularly plays his violin in downtown London anyway.

Patterson says one of his biggest regrets is "not staying with it." After putting down the violin his grandfather gave him at age 10, hepicked it up again at age 40. He still plays the sameinstrument.

The self-taught musician made his living driving cabsand school vehiclesbut nowin retirement, Patterson enjoys heading downtownwith his violin.

"It's better than watching television. It gives me something to do. I can be out with the public, I can mix, I can have conversations. I enjoy it."

Pattersondoesn't make much money busking, but regularly gives back to the people he meets downtown, "I buy them a Tim Horton'scard here and there. If they're playing the guitar, I'll buy them a couple sets of guitar strings."
